Welcome to the Lambda Kappa Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha

My name is Jessica Plantamura, and I have the honor of serving as Chapter President of Zeta Tau Alpha this year. Coming to Appalachian State from Michigan, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Greek life, but joining Zeta Tau Alpha quickly became one of the most meaningful parts of my college experience. This sisterhood has taught me so much about leadership, loyalty, humility, and love — values that I strive to carry with me in everything I do.
The women in Zeta are passionate, hardworking, and genuine. They inspire me daily, whether they’re leading on campus, excelling in the classroom, or showing up for one another in small but meaningful ways. Through this organization, I’ve found true friendship, personal growth, and a strong sense of belonging.
Zeta Tau Alpha has given me lifelong connections and unforgettable experiences, and I’m so proud to lead a chapter that continues to empower and support women in all that they do.

My name is Katie Johnson, and I have the honor of serving as Vice President of Programming for the Lambda Kappa chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha at Appalachian State University. When I transferred to App as a sophomore, I was searching for a place where I could truly be myself. I was nervous about making new friends, but I decided to step outside my comfort zone and go through formal recruitment. From the moment I walked through Zeta’s doors, I felt an instant sense of comfort and connection. The kindness and authenticity I found made me realize that Zeta wasn’t just a sorority, it was a home.
Since joining ZTA, I’ve gained lifelong friendships, confidence, and countless opportunities for growth. Each of my sisters inspires me through their leadership, compassion, and drive to make a difference. They’ve taught me what it truly means to live out our values of love, humility, loyalty, and leadership.
Serving as Vice President of Programming has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my college career. Working alongside 23 amazing women has shown me how much dedication and teamwork go into creating the sisterhood moments that make Zeta so special.
When I think about the person I was when I first joined compared to who I am now, I’m amazed at how much ZTA has helped me grow. I started out as a shy, unsure sophomore, and now I’m a confident leader surrounded by women who push me to be my best every day. Zeta Tau Alpha has truly been my home away from home, and I can honestly say I wouldn’t be the person I am today without it.
