Involvement

Our involvement on campus is something we take great pride in — it’s one of the many things that make the Lambda Kappa chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha truly special. We believe that being a Zeta means being an active and engaged member of the Appalachian State community. One of the things that makes our chapter so unique is the incredible diversity of interests and talents among our sisters. From leadership positions in Student Government, service organizations, and academic honor societies to involvement in major-based clubs, creative arts, and athletic teams, our sisters are everywhere — making an impact, building connections, and representing ZTA with pride. Each member brings her own strengths and passions to campus, creating a dynamic presence that reflects our values of leadership, service, and authenticity. Whether it’s volunteering, performing, mentoring, or leading, you’ll always find a Zeta who’s using her talents to make App State a better, more connected community.

Our chapter is also deeply committed to sharing our national philanthropy, Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, with the broader Appalachian community. We’re passionate about making a difference and empowering others to join the fight for awareness and early detection. Every October, we host our annual Think Pink Week, a campus-wide celebration of hope, strength, and education. Throughout the week, we pass out pink ribbons on Sanford Mall, partner with local restaurants for percentage nights, and host exciting events like our Color Me Pink 5K and Serving Up Hope Pickleball Tournament. These events not only raise awareness and funds but also unite students, faculty, and local residents in support of a cause that touches so many lives.

Even beyond October, our commitment to “Think Pink” continues year-round. Whether through small acts of service, educational outreach, or participation in national ZTA initiatives, our sisters carry the message of hope and awareness into everything we do. For us, involvement isn’t just about being busy — it’s about being purposeful, connected, and inspired to make a difference, both on our campus and beyond.
