Social events are a cherished aspect of our Zeta Tau Alpha experience, providing meaningful opportunities for our members to connect, celebrate, and strengthen the bonds of sisterhood. These events allow us to engage with one another and with the greater Greek community at Appalachian State in an environment that encourages friendship, joy, and unity. Throughout the academic year, our chapter hosts a variety of mixers and social gatherings designed to foster relationships with other Greek organizations and enhance our sense of community.

In addition to mixers, we host several date functions, where sisters are invited to bring a guest for an evening filled with music, dining, and entertainment. Each social event is typically centered around a creative theme—ranging from seasonal celebrations to imaginative costume concepts—and one of the highlights is seeing the enthusiasm and originality our sisters bring through their outfits and decorations. Our social calendar remains full of engaging, well-planned events that reflect our chapter’s spirit of fun and togetherness.

Our fall semester features the much-anticipated Semi-Formal, a night dedicated to celebrating sisterhood and creating memories that last well beyond the season. In the spring, we host our elegant Formal, one of our most treasured traditions. Formal offers our sisters the chance to dress up and celebrate accomplishments with one another, while also recognizing individual members through sister-nominated superlatives such as “Sweet as a Strawberry,” “Dynamic Duo,” and “Best Big and Little Pair.” This event also serves as a heartfelt send-off for our graduating seniors, ensuring their final Zeta function is a memorable and meaningful celebration of their time in the chapter.

Social events are more than moments of enjoyment—they represent the unity, love, and lifelong friendship that define our sisterhood. They provide a meaningful space for our members to relax, connect, and grow closer amidst the demands of college life, reinforcing the spirit and values that make Zeta Tau Alpha truly feel like home.
